Nanaimo is one of the best cold-water diving destinations on Vancouver Island. The Straits of Georgia and Juan de Fuca merge in southern Vancouver Island, making it one of the world's best places for marine life. Many divers visit this place to explore walls and reefs and also to take photos. Ladysmith is another location with a sunk ship. This place is one of the few places where divers can find Basket Star.
