Island Notes Music Festival or Vancouver Island Chamber Music Festival (As it was known before) has been around for about ten years. The festival is planned and executed by the Nanaimo Conservatory of Music's Concert Committee. 2020 marked the 10th anniversary of the music festival.
Island Note or the Nanaimo's Music Festival has always tried to the opportunity to expand the festival and move with the times or, in other words, get adapt and advanced. Nanaimo Conservatory of Music's goal is to offer instruction and guidance to professional music students and who are simply thinking of music as an enjoyable leisure pursuit.
Island Notes Music Festival or the Nanaimo's Music Festival happens at Nanaimo Conservatory of Music at 375 Selby Street, Nanaimo. The conservatory of music is very close to downtown, so there will be many interesting places to visit.
Have a meal at La Stella Trattoria, an Italian restaurant, or Asteras, a dine-in and takeaway restaurant. If you go a little further, you might find Vancouver Island Military Museum, Nanaimo Art Gallery | ART LAB, and The Bastion, a historical landmark.

Island Notes Music Festival is located in downtown Nanaimo. Just head on Fitzwilliam St toward Wesley St and then go to 375 Selby St to find the place.
From Victoria:
Getting to Island Notes Music Festival from Victoria is via Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N. It is 111 km (68.9 miles) and takes about an hour and a half.
Head west on Pandora Ave toward Government St and go on for 99 m (324.8 ft). Turn right onto Government St
and after 1 km (0.6 miles), take a slight right toward Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N. Follow it for 72 m (236.2 ft), use any lane to turn left onto Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N and drive 108 km (67.1 miles). Turn left onto Milton St, and after 550 m (1804.4 ft) turn right onto Albert St. Go on for 220 m (721.7 ft) and turn left at the 2nd cross street onto Selby St. Destination will be on the left, and after 300 m (984.2 ft), you will reach Nanaimo Conservatory of Music.
The Nanaimo Conservatory of Music was named the Central Vancouver Island Community Music School, and it was founded in 1977. At first, there were only six teachers and thirty students. Before the Conservatory or the music school, students had to travel to Victoria or Vancouver for lessons, especially for high-level ones.
The conservatory is close to downtown, where the best activities in the city are available. You can take a short walk and do lots of adventures. Throw an axe at a target like a Viking warrior in Axe & Grind, an axe-throwing club about 650 m (2132.5 ft) to the northeast. With so many take-outs and dine-in restaurants in the area like Modern Café or The View Oceanside Grill, it would be a total loss if you don't try some. Port Theatre on Front St is where you can see a play or enjoy a concert. Since Nanaimo Harbour's docks are at the east, have a walk there in the evening to watch the sunset.
