Sooke River Bluegrass Festival used to takes place at the Sooke River Campground before going to Cowichan valley. However, it is still on Father’s Day; it is a weekend to enjoy everything blue, Bluegrass, blue skies and blue water. The festival features over 20 acts, and the headliners come from Victoria and all across the continent. The festival acts are on an outdoor stage, and the festival offers interactive workshops and fascinating jam sessions that can pop up in the craziest places. The Sooke River Bluegrass Festival Society has rebranded after 16 years. Due to the need for more space and starting from 2019, the festival goes as The ‘Cowichan Valley Bluegrass Festival. ‘ The Sooke River Bluegrass Festival is a perfect event for families and friends, and the performances are an array of both local and visiting acoustic talent; of course, there are food and merchandise vendors around the festival. The Sooke Bluegrass Festival has an excellent lineup of artists, instrument workshops, not to mention the beautiful scenery of the area that you won’t want to miss.

Sooke River Bluegrass Music Festival started in 2002. However, it was rebranded as Cowichan Valley Bluegrass Festival in 2019 and moved to Cowichan valley. The festival always is held on the weekend of father’s day. This is something that hasn’t changed in rebranding.
