Tai Chi both Continuing regular and Seated takes place at St. Andrews United Church, 315 Fitzwilliam St., Nanaimo, BC (V9R 3A6). The Seated Set is specialized for people with health concerns such as limited mobility, poor circulation, stress, or injuries, using gentle range-of-motion exercises so everyone can participate. A better quality of life is the focus.
In Tai Chi both Continuing regular and Seated, you will learn the "seated mini set" of 17 moves from the 108 Moving Meditations in the tradition of Master Moy Lin-shin, along with exercises that stretch the back and spine to improve overall flexibility, balance, and strength. Movements taught in this class may help increase circulation and lymph flow, open the joints, and stretch tendons and ligaments.
This class supports general relaxation and is beneficial to everyone. Recent studies indicate that Tai Chi may help with a range of medical issues, including Parkinson's, MS, fibromyalgia, arthritis, asthma, and rehabilitation from hip and knee replacements.
Held on Fitzwilliam Street in Nanaimo, Tai Chi both Continuing regular and Seated is a welcoming addition to Nanaimo events and is part of the broader Wellness and health events Vancouver Island.
