NBC Hunts: Ethical Wildlife Engagement and Wildlife Watching Tours in Vancouver Island

NBC Hunts emphasizes responsible wildlife interaction through education on ethical hunting techniques, even in our wildlife watching tours.
We teach:
Tracking and Observation: Learn to identify animal signs (tracks, scat, feeding areas) to understand wildlife behavior without disturbance.
Habitat Awareness: Understand how BC’s ecosystems support species like black bears, deer, and salmon, informed by the 2024–2026 Hunting & Trapping Regulations Synopsis.
Sustainable Fishing: Practice catch-and-release or regulated harvesting in line with BC’s freshwater fishing regulations.
Conservation Ethics: Follow guidelines like maintaining safe distances from wildlife and respecting Indigenous land rights, such as those of the Nuchatlaht First Nation on Nootka Island. Our programs align with the Guide Outfitters Association of BC’s Code of Conduct, ensuring respect for wildlife and habitats.
