Sproat Lake, with a surface area of 37.75 km² (14.57 mi²) and an average depth of 74 m (243 ft), is part of Sproat Lake Provincial Park, admired for its warm water. It makes this place apt for swimming, fishing and windsurfing. Additionally, Sproat Lake wakeboarding and waterskiing facilities increase the attractiveness of the lake.
Located almost 20 km (12.4 miles) northwest of Port Alberni, on central Vancouver Island, Sproat Lake is accessible through Pacific Rim Highway 4 or Great Central Lake Road. You can leave your car in the Sproat Lake Provincial Park parking lot, which takes a short walk to the petroglyphs. There are other lakes near Sproat Lake, including Great Central Lake, Nahmint Lake, and Henderson Lake. Like most parks in the region, the campers should reserve ahead, particularly during the summer months.
