About the Artist

Barb DeRousie, a Victoria native raised among the ocean’s whisper, channels her life on Vancouver Island’s shores into vibrant mixed-media abstracts.
Starting in 2013 with watercolours and plein air landscapes, she transitioned to mixed-media abstraction in 2020 under the Creative Visionary Program. Her work layers acrylic, collage and design principles in a “call‑and‑response” process of discovery.
