Butterfly Run Nanaimo | Van Isle 2025

A Meaningful Day of Remembrance and Support

What if a single step could help heal a heart? This October, join a community of compassionate individuals at Westwood Lake in Nanaimo for the 4th Annual Butterfly Run Vancouver Island. Together, we'll walk and run to honour the lives of those lost too soon and support families navigating the journey of grief and healing.

Event: 4th Annual Butterfly Run Vancouver Island

Date: Saturday, October 4, 2025

Time: 10:00 a.m. PDT

Location: Westwood Lake, Nanaimo, Vancouver Island

Race Options: 5 km & 3 km Run/Walk

Registration: Open now via Race Roster

Purpose of the 4th Annual Butterfly Run

The Butterfly Run Vancouver Island is a heartfelt memorial walk/run dedicated to supporting those who have experienced infertility, pregnancy loss, or infant loss. By participating, you contribute to raising awareness and funds for the Butterfly Support Network, which provides free programs such as counselling, support groups, and peer support for families across British Columbia.

Race Day Schedule

  • 8:00 – 9:30 a.m.: Race Kit Pickup
  • 9:45 a.m.: Pre-Race Program (Welcome Announcements and Warm-Up)
  • 10:00 a.m.: Race Begins
  • 10:30 a.m.: Light Refreshments and Community Resource Tables

Race Kits and T-Shirts

  • Adult Participants:

  • Includes race kit and t-shirt
  • T-shirt sizes guaranteed until September 1, 2025
  • Option to decline race kit during registration

  • Children Under 12:

  • Free registration (must be registered)
  • Race kit and t-shirt not included
  • Children's t-shirts available for $15.00 at the time of registration (available until September 1, 2025)


Registration Fees

  • Early Bird (May 30 – July 3): $50
  • Regular (July 4 – September 22): $60
  • Late (September 23 – October 4): $70
  • Children Under 12: Free (registration required)

  • Please note: Race registrations are non-refundable. If the event goes entirely virtual due to unforeseen circumstances, refunds will not be issued; however, participants will still receive their race kit and shirt.

Parking and Accessibility

Parking: Limited parking available at Westwood Lake. Carpooling is recommended.

Accessibility: The event is designed to be inclusive for participants of all abilities.
