Event Overview

Where: Cowichan Exhibition Grounds, 7380 Trans‑Canada Hwy, North Cowichan (Duncan), BC
When:
  • Public Days: Friday, Sept 12 – Sunday, Sept 14, 2025
  • Grounds open from 9 am–9 pm (Fri/Sat) and 9 am–4 pm (Sun)
  • Midway opens Thursday, Sept 11

Admission:
  • Thursday preview: $2 per person
  • Friday/Saturday: Adults $12, Seniors (65+) $9, Youth 12–17 $10, Children 7–11 $7, under 6 free
  • Sunday: Adult $10; Midway rides priced separately

Parking & Accessibility:
Free parking outside Gate #3; limited on‑site drop‑off before 10 am

What to Expect – Highlights

  • Theme: Winged Wonders—celebrating bees, butterflies, bats, dragonflies, and more
  • Special features:
  • Diverse entries in creative stitchery, homegrown produce, arts & crafts, flowers, fiber arts, and new “Winged Wonders Egg Shell Mosaic”
  • Over 30 competition categories for youth and adults, including 4‑H, livestock, woodworking, and LEGO

  • Live music on the Main Stage: Creedence covers, blues bands, Celtic dancers, VI Wrestling, medieval combat demos, Global FXM performers
  • Midway amusement rides (supplied by West Coast Amusements)
  • Commercial vendors and local food trucks offering everything from grilled cheese to gelato

  • Kid’s Corral: interactive zones & demonstrations
  • Logging sports, hands‑on farm and livestock experiences
  • Global FXM (re-enactments, performances) and medieval combat showcases

Friday, Sept 12:
  • Young Farmers Day (9 am–2 pm) – a prime time to meet youth in agriculture
  • Main Stage entertainment begins midday

Saturday, Sept 13:
  • Full day of live performances, midway rides, agricultural displays

Sunday, Sept 14:
  • Judging wrap-up; last call for rides and exhibits until 4 pm
  • Prize announcements and award ceremonies late afternoon

Entry Deadlines & Competitions

  • Entry forms due by Wed, Sept 3, 4 pm (late fees apply)

  • Exhibit drop-off windows:
  • August 11–Sept 5: Photography
  • Sept 9–11: Crafts, food, horticulture

Tickets & Catalogues

  • Printed and online catalogues available now at the Exhibition office and local spots (City Hall, Buckerfields, Duncan Community Farm Store, etc.)
  • Gate admission only—or combo with ride wristbands, available on‑site

Helpful Tips

  • Arrive early Friday or Saturday to avoid crowds and enjoy cooler mornings
  • Parking: use Lot #3 or nearby public lots; arrive before 10 am for smoother drop-off
  • Camping on grounds available at $32/day—first‑come, first‑served
  • Volunteering: sign up for roles from ticketing to golf‑cart driving—great way to experience the Fair up close
