Event Overview

What: 17th Annual Sooke Duck Day featuring the iconic rubber duck race, decorate-a-duck contest, mallard business race, kids’ scavenger hunt, games, and concessions.
When: Saturday, May 3, 2025 • 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Where: Sooke River Campground (2259 Phillips Road, Sooke, BC).
Admission: Free for all ages; optional duck race tickets at $5 each or $20 for a 5-pack, proceeds support local charities.
Presented by: Sooke Harbourside Lions Club

Schedule & Highlights

How to Participate

1- Buy Your Duck

• On Race Day: At dedicated ticket booths on site from 11:00 am onward.
• Pre-Purchase Locations (until sell-out): Castle Liquor, Western Foods, Home Hardware, and SFRS Community Thrift Store.

2- Register & Decorate

• Register ducks by noon at the start line.
• Bring your own decorations or vote on business-decorated ducks.

3- Follow Race Etiquette

• Line up at the designated launch zone along the riverbank.
• Respect volunteers and keep pathways clear for safety.
