Ladysmith Days is a beloved annual celebration hosted by the Ladysmith Celebration Society, dedicated to showcasing the warm community spirit, rich history, and seaside charm of this coastal gem on Vancouver Island.

What to Expect

Saturday, August 2 (starting ~10 am)

Soap Box Derby races in downtown Ladysmith—adrenaline and local flair collide!
"Old School Races" family challenges (12–2 pm at Transfer Beach). Sponsored by local community groups, this is fun for kids of all ages.
Vendor Market & Food Trucks lining the waterfront, with handcrafted goods and island-inspired fare.

Sunday, August 3

Fishing Derby – a classic pastime, perfect for families and outdoor lovers.
Family-Friendly Competitions: Nail Driving, Greasy Pole, and maybe even a playful wrestling match!
"Kids’ Count Fun Zone" courtesy of Ladysmith & District Credit Union – games, inflatables and laughter.

Both Days (Aug 2–3)

Live Music on the Mid Island Coop stage, ranging from local artists to lively island bands.
Soap Box Derby & Vendor Expo, plenty of opportunities to buy local crafts, savour treats, and meet the makers.

Sunday Evening Finale: Concert & Fireworks

Cap off the weekend with a fantastic evening concert at Transfer Beach, followed by a breathtaking fireworks display lighting the summer sky. Expect big beats and bright lights—a stellar way to close the fun weekend.
