On Cowichan Lake's shores, camping in the Gordon Bay Provincial Park Camp Site is excellent for families and individuals. Golden Bay Camp Site is a large wilderness area that offers perfect and clean sites with a quiet atmosphere to retreat from daily bustles.
The beautiful spectacles of Gordon Bay Provincial Park are one of its attractions. The logged mountain with beautiful sunset and water view is eye-catching. Wildlife is impressive and even more in April and May. Both RV sites and tent sites are available in the campsite, with one group campsite and semi-private vehicle accessible campsites nestled in second-growth Douglas fir trees.
The lake, situated on one of the sunniest valleys, is quite warm in summers, offering excellent swimming. It has a lovely swimming area surrounded by log booms. By a few minutes walking, you would enjoy the small sandy beach along Cowichan Lake Beach. A small museum is at Saywell Park to exhibit the patrimony and culture of the place and a forest industry that displays some old-growth and beautiful giant trees.
Gordon Bay Camp Site is located in Gordon Bay Provincial Park by Cowichan Lake. It is located on the south of Vancouver Island between Honeymoon Bay 3 km (1.86 miles) and Mesachie Lake about 6 km (3.72 miles) to the south and Caycuse 13 km (8 miles) to the north. Having recreational time would be enjoyable in Nitinat River Provincial Park 26 km (16 miles) to the north, Carmanah Walbran Provincial Park 38 km (23.6 miles) to the west and Pacific Rim National Park Reserve 68 km (42.2 miles) to the northwest. The Hobiton Lake and Nitinat Lake are located to its west, about 40 km (24.8 miles). Its nearby towns and regions are Mesachie Lake, Lake Cowichan, Honeymoon Bay, and Duncan.
