The Fastest route from Victoria is via Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N. The length of this route is 37.2 km (23.1 miles) and takes about 33 minutes.
Head west on Pandora Ave towards Government St. After 99 m (324.8 ft), turn right onto Government St and drive for 1 km (0.6 miles). Slight right towards Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N. After 72 m (236.2 ft), use any lane to turn left onto Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N. Continue for 27.7 km (17.2 miles) and turn left onto Shawnigan Lake Rd. Drive 8.4 km (5.2 miles) more to reach Memory Island Provincial Park.
From Nanaimo:
Nanaimo's fastest route is via Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 S. It takes about one hour for 74.3 km (46.1 miles).
Take Wallace St to Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 S. After 550 m (1804.4 ft), turn right onto Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 S. Continue for 60.9 km (37.8 miles) and drive to Shawnigan Lake Rd in Cowichan Valley B. After 12.8 km (7.9 miles), you will reach Memory Island Provincial Park.

Memory Island Provincial Park was established on August 23, 1945. The island was gifted to the BC people by the Mayhew and Scharff families to commemorate their sons (Allan Mayhew and Kenneth Scharff), who loved to spend their time on the island and lost their lives in World War II.
