Shawnigan Lake is a recreational summer resort located in the southern part of Vancouver Island. Besides lakeside cabins, several beaches and a spectacular shoreline make Shawnigan Lake a fantastic hot spot for kayaking and canoeing.
There are several attractions near Shawnigan Lake. The landmarks include Old Mill Park on the east side of Shawnigan Lake, Memory Island Provincial Park, West Shawnigan Lake Provincial Park, Koksilah River Provincial Park, and Bamberton Provincial Park. Shawnigan Lake Village is located on the eastern shore of the lake, offers different facilities, and is known as one of Vancouver Island's most fascinating attractions.
Shawnigan Lake is located 8.5 km (5.2 miles) west of Mill Bay and 45 km (27 miles) north of Victoria and borders the communities of Cobble Hill and Mill Bay.
