Mount Washington, known as the second busiest winter recreational destination in BC, after Whistler/ Blackcomb, is one of the best places to follow snowshoeing on Vancouver Island. Mount Washington offers scenic meadows and passing trails by over 55 km (34.1 miles) of paths suitable for snowshoeing.
Driving 31 km (19.2 miles) west of Hwy 19 in Courtenay, visitors can have a 360-degree panorama of the Strait of Georgia and the Sunshine Coast from the Powell River to Sechelt.
A wide range of resorts, including the Alpine Lodge, Bradley Centre, Raven Lodge, Raven Centre and Alpine Village, provide room for several visitors each year.
Mount Washington is on the eastern edge of Vancouver Island. Mount Washington has a distance of 33 km (20.5 miles) from the town of Courtenay in the Comox Valley and is reachable by driving 134 km (83.2 miles) northwest of Nanaimo. It is also accessible by a 245 km (152.2 miles) drive northwest of Victoria.
