Getting to Deer Falls from Nanaimo is via BC-19 N. It is 168 km (104.3 mi) and takes about an hour and 47 minutes.
Head west on Fitzwilliam St toward Wesley St for 800 m (2624.6 ft). Continue onto Third St for 1.9 km (1.2 miles) and Jingle Pot Rd. Turn right onto BC-19 N (signs for Campbell R) and after 159 km (98.7 mi), turn left onto Duncan Bay Rd. Drive 1.8 km (1.1 mi) and turn left onto Gordon Rd. After 2.4 km (1.4 mi), turn left onto Brewster Lake Rd. Drive 2 km (1.2 mi) more to reach Deer Falls.
From Victoria:
The fastest route from Victoria is via Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N and BC-19 N. It is 287 km (187.3 mi) and takes about 3 hours and 14 minutes.
Get on BC-19 N in Nanaimo from Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N from 106 km (65.8 mi). Merge onto BC-19 N for 166 km (103.1mi). Take Gordon Rd to Brewster Lake Rd in Campbell River, and after 6.2 km (3.8 mi), you will reach Deer Falls.
Deer Falls doesn't have a designated trail. You can go via Iron River Rd or via Pump House Main which you can find on Google Maps. Pump House Main trail is 10.4 km (6.4 miles), and it's shorter than Iron River Rd. It starts at Brewster Lake Rd, and you can use the trail year-round. The path is suitable for children because it doesn't have much elevation. Dogs can use the trail as well but must be kept on a leash. The hike is through a forest and along the Campbell River. You can enjoy the landscape of the forest and the river in perfect harmony.
