Surfing on Vancouver Island is not limited to Tofino. Located along the far west coast of the island, it is a small settlement with a century of popularity. Jordan River community is approximately one hour from Victoria. The stormy weather with the intensified climate from late September through March makes the location much more suitable. Spectacular views from the Pacific Ocean with waves of about 2 ft. (0.61 meters) to 10 ft. (3.05 meters) make Jordan River surfing more fantastic. This area is the place of expectations. So, don't hesitate to explore this hidden jewel.
West Coast Road on southern Vancouver Island, approximately 70 km (43.5 miles) west of Victoria, halfway between Sooke and Port Renfrew. About 4 km (2.49 miles) west of the Sandcut Beach parking area.
The nearby campground is China Beach Campground to its north. The beaches nearby are China Beach and Mystic Beach, to the north, Sandcut Beach and French Beach to the south. Have a breaking time at Cold Shoulder Café and enjoy the lovely atmosphere and convenient service.
Inconsistent wave condition is guaranteed in the summer. In winter, the weather condition is intensified, and wave riding is much more energetic. From late September through March, storms are mainly originated from the Gulf of Alaska.
