Nimpkish Lake is placed in one of Vancouver Island's northern provincial parks, south of Port McNeill. There is a recreational site on the Western Forest that is reachable through Highway 19, the windsurfers' destination. Besides Nimpkish Lake windsurfing, other possible activities are boating, fishing, hiking, hunting, skiing, wildlife viewing, and swimming. The lake offers mountain views and wilderness areas.
Nimpkish Lake is placed at Nimpkish Lake Provincial Park on northern Vancouver Island. It is approximately 30 km (18.6 miles) south of Port McNeill in the regional district of Mount Waddington. There is a boat launch at the recreation site of Western Forest Products at Kim Creek. Additionally, there are some logging ways to reach the place. The park comprises the southernmost east-facing slops of the Karmutzen Range and contains most of Tlakwa Creek drainage, excluding the Crown-owned forest land and the privately-owned District Lot 266, south and east of Tlakwa Creek.
