Quatsino Sound is a pristine kayaking location separating the northern part of Vancouver Island from the rest. Primarily known as a landscape of underground caverns, Quatsino Sound is the mysterious destination of kayakers. Quatsino Sound includes Quatsino, Winter Harbour, Coal Harbour, and Port Alice.
Kayak renting is available for experienced paddlers. Everyone intending to bring a kayak on BC Ferries may be allowed with no extra charge.

Quatsino Sound is full of astounding scenery and rich wilderness. Kayakers may confront a wide variety of marine mammals, including Whales and Sea Otters.
The Quatsino Provincial Park on the northern Quatsino Sound is a 654-hectare park containing archeological sites, lakes and forests. Quatsino Provincial Park can be reached from Holberg by logging roads or from Winter Harbour, Coal Harbour, or Port Alice by boat.
Access to Quatsino Sound is via Port Hardy by paved road to Coal Harbour, continuing on gravel roads to Holberg and Winter Harbor. Quatsino Sound is on the west coast of northern Vancouver Island, south of Quatsino Provincial Park. There is a neighbouring Harbour named Koprino, where Marine travellers can launch their boats. This Place is also accessible from Winter Harbour, Coal Harbour, or Port Alice.
