Alder Bay is located near Telegraph Cove and Port McNeill on the northeast of Vancouver Island. To the east side of Alder Bay, Alert Bay, about 2 km (1.2 miles) and Malcolm Island, about 10 km (6.2 miles) and to the southeast, Pearse Islands, 3 km (1.8 miles), are located. You can take a visit to Lower Nimpkish River Provincial Park and Thiemer Lake about 7 km (4.3 miles) to the northwest.
