Barkley Sound is between Ucluelet and Bamfield on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The area of Barkley Sound is around 800 square kilometres (309 square miles). This place is easily accessible for kayaking—for kayakers who intend to have a great adventure. The best time to paddle in Barkley Sound is from July and August. The Barkley Sound is reachable down Alberni Inlet and is south of Ucluelet and north of Bamfield on the west coast of Vancouver Island. From Port Alberni, there is a route named MV Frances Barkley, leading to Bamfield and Ucluelet's fishing ports passing through the Broken Group Island.
