Cox Bay is considered one of the most popular surfing spots on Vancouver Island. If you're a beginner or advanced, Cox Bay is where you'll find suitable locations with appropriate kiteboarding waves. However, before deciding on Cox Bay Kiteboarding, watch the surfing reports and wave directions. The waves may be relentless. Additionally, the sandy beach of Cox Bay, south of Chesterman Beach, is an excellent place for hiking, walking, and sunbathing. Biking in Cox Bay's catchy trails and looking at the Cox Bay Beach views are other merits of visiting the place.
Cox Bay is placed at the south end of Tofino. Almost at the waist of Vancouver Island. It's in the vicinity of islands like Indian Island and Warne Island in the east and Lennard Island Lighthouse in the west. It can be found almost 7.5 km (4.6 miles) south of Tofino town and 33.7 km (21 miles) away from the Ucluelet district in the northwest. It is separated by Sunset Point, south of Chesterman Beach. Large and well-equipped resorts with spectacular Oceanside Rooms nearby, making everything neat and comfortable for your stay.
There are different ways to drive to the place. Taking Highway 1 via Nanaimo to Parksville leads to Highway 4. Going to Port Alberni through Tofino, there is a sign representing Cox Bay.
