Cox Bay Beach is an extended beach with plenty of suitable spots for surfing and windsurfing. Cox Bay's consistent offshore winds from the northeast facilitate surfing most of the time, makes the area one of the most popular places for surfing. It may be preferable to other beaches in the areas due to the wonderful 15-minute walk through the forest from nearby resorts.
Cox Bay Beach is placed at the south end of the Tofino District. Almost at the waist of Vancouver Island. It is accessible by taking the Pacific Rim Highway between Chesterman Beach and Long Beach and in the vicinity of Long Beach Lodge Resort.
Cox Bay Beach can be found at 7.5 km (4.6 miles) south of Tofino and 33.7 km (21 miles) away from the Ucluelet in the north. It is separated by Sunset Point, south of Chesterman Beach. There are large and well-equipped resorts with spectacular Oceanside Rooms nearby, making everything neat and comfortable for your stay.
The best season for surfing is between March and July. The average wave height is 1 to 3 meters (3.2 to 9.8 ft.). The direction of winds is almost from the North East and East.
