Wide and flat lovely Cox Bay Beach is very clean, quiet, and peaceful, on which storm watching makes you feel excited. 14 m (45 ft) high waves hit Cox Bay Beach, making it an excellent spot for storm watching. Taking in the beautiful sunset and watching surfers while walking or lounging on this sandy beach would be fantastic. The beach is just 6 km (3.7 miles) to Tofino's center. Direct access to Cox Bay Beach is possible from Cox Bay Beach Resort. The resort is modern and fully equipped that features everything one may need. Ample outdoor seating with a beach view makes it best to stay by the beach. The ocean's crashing waves at night make you have a calm and good-feeling night.
Cox Bay Beach is on the west coast of Vancouver Island in Tofino. 2 km (1.2 miles) south of Cox Bay is Millard Lake.
North of Cox Bay Beach, Chesterman Beach, about 2.5 km (1.5 miles) and about 8 km (5 miles) south Long Beach is placed. Cox Bay Beach Resort and Long Beach Lodge Resort are near Cox Bay, where you can stay a night or two, and the Surf Club at Long Beach Lodge Resort to have a surf shop and training.
Forest View Cabin, a cabin rental agency, is about 800 m (2625 ft) from Cox Bay. To have a seafood dish with a pleasant atmosphere that features outdoor seating would be possible at Surfside Grill. An excellent spot for a picnic and view of Cox Bay Beach and Chesterman Beach while enjoying the sun would be possible at sunset point, park and garden, easily accessible from north of Cox Bay.
You can get there from Nanaimo via Alberni Hwy, then Pacific Rim Hwy. Take Maltby Rd, and the beach is accessible from a parking lot.
The average temperature in the storm watching season is about 6°C (43°F). It experiences the coldest months in December with a maximum temperature of 7°C (44°F) and a minimum temperature of 3°C (37°F). The high rate of precipitation is from November to March. Snowfall is from October to April.
