Steve Smith Bike Park features roads from easy lines to hard lines and is an excellent spot for riders of all ages and all skill levels. The Pump Track is also great for skateboarders and scooter riders. There are two loops, one for intermediate and one for advanced riders.

Having an adventure in Newcastle Island Marine Provincial Park is possible by driving about 5 km (3.1 miles) to the southeast and taking a boat. There is another waterfall nearby. Ammonite Falls is placed in Benson Creek Falls Regional Park, about 13 km (8 miles) to the west. Going 5.7 km (3.5 miles) to the southwest, you reach Westwood Lake. It is a freshwater lake with a sandy beach near Westwood Lake Park.
If you desire some educational visits, the Nanaimo Museum and the Vancouver Island Military Museum are about 6 km (3.7 miles) to the southeast.

Take Government St to Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N for 1.2 km (0.7 miles). Follow Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N to Northfield Rd in Nanaimo for 115 km (71.4 miles). Continue 2.4 km (1.5 miles) on Northfield Rd to your destination.
