Artzi Stuff is a place where you can find one-of-a-kind things. Founded in 2008, the gallery has been selling locally made art, jewelry, and craft and presenting photo exhibits, photos that are more up to date than the one you can found on Facebook or Instagram. When you enter the gallery, you can see unique handmade items that are made lovingly and creatively by the artists' hands.
Artzi Stuff jewelry is very exquisite and various, made with silver, gold, and titanium. You could find other artifacts in the gallery such as pewter, lampworked glass, ceramics, resin, pearls, fishing float glass, guitar strings, arbutus wood, bamboo, and koa wood, semi-precious stones, and beads.
The gallery also hosts birthdays, marriages, retirements, and other celebrations. The good thing about buying from local artists and designers is that you choose to support the artists making their living by selling their art. Buying from a local artist means that you are supporting independent, creative thinkers.
Artzi Stuff is located at 2 Church Street downtown Nanaimo. It is across from Modern Cafe (at the intersection of Commercial and Church streets), on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Taking-outs, restaurants, and lounges practically surround Artzi Stuff, so you have several places for spending time. You could go to these places before or after you've visited the gallery. If you want to add a little bit of spice to the trip, visit Axe & Grind, an axe-throwing club that is what it sounds like and could be the perfect way to have fun. Since the Nanaimo Art Gallery is just around the corner, you can reward yourself with more art from Nanaimo's artists. The Bastion, a landmark in the city, is down the street, so you might as well go and see that too.

Before the arrival of the European people in 1720, the Snuneymuxw First Nation was the only inhabitants.
Spanish were the first to arrive in this area, and since then, keeping the Snuneymuxw people's heritage has been challenging, especially through injustices, colonial oppression, diseases, and prejudice.
Downtown Nanaimo is where the best activities in the city are. You get to do almost anything you want. You can throw an axe at a target like a Viking warrior in Axe & Grind, an axe-throwing club that is two streets above the gallery. You can find so many take-outs and dine-in restaurants like Modern Café or The View Oceanside Grill in the area. It will be a total loss if you don't try some of it. Another right place to go is Port Theatre on Front St, one street below the gallery. It is where you can see a play or enjoy a concert, and since the docks are down the street, have a walk there in the evening and watch the sunset.
