To get to the campground, you have an adventurous backpacking trip through the lush alpine forest along with lakes and ponds, crossing suspension bridges.
At 250 m (820.2 ft) elevation, the difficult trail starts, and the campground is over 6 km (3.7 miles). Following the route, quickly, a rather relentless climb begins through the thick forest.
By approaching the top of the climb, trees thin out, and impressive mountain peaks surrounding the area appear with the sight of packed trees beneath. Continuing the trail, Baby Bedwell Lake is located. Passing by Baby Bedwell Lake and walking about 2 km (1.2 miles), you will find Bedwell Lake with its stunning campground and a view of Mt Tom Taylor glaciated summits.

Buttle Lake's stunning view encircled by thick forest with surrounding mountains peaks pillared up to the sky and makes an awe-inspiring atmosphere. The crystal clear water offers perfect swimming with shallow and deep areas.

Bedwell Lake campground is near Baby Bedwell Campground, set in the forest encircled by mountains. The campground can be treated as a base camp to explore gorgeous mountains. The heights include Mt Tom Taylor, Big Interior Mountain, and Nine Peaks, along with beautiful lakes such as Beauty Lake 7 km (4.3 miles), Leader Lake 8 km (4.9 miles), and Della Lake 6 km (3.7 miles) to the southwest. Two beautiful lakes, including Jim Mitchell Lake and Thelwood Lake, are about 4 km (2.4 miles) to the campground's northeast. Buttle Lake is about 10 km (6.2 miles) to the east, where visitors can enjoy its nice campground right on the lake. Nearby town and community to the campground are Comox and Courtenay, where several shops and amenities are available for visitors passing by.
