Clark Rock dive site is placed north of Departure Bay and near Pipers Lagoon Park. There is a lighted beacon there to specify the reefs. Near the place, divers who came for Clark Rock diving can watch the wrecks sunk into the water.
Octopus and wolf eels make water exploration much more fantastic. Parking facilities besides photography opportunities and a deep diving location of 24 meters (80 ft.) are other advantages of visiting Clark Rock.
Clark Rock is accessible from Departure Bay, located 4 km (2.5 miles) north of downtown Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. The place considers as one of Nanaimo's diving locations and is accessible by boat. Getting to Clark Rock diving site from Nanaimo is via Terminal Ave N and Hammond Bay Rd. It is 9.4 km (5.8 miles) and takes about 10 minutes.
Head northwest on Wallace St toward Wentworth St, and after 500 m (1640.4 t), turn right onto Comox Rd. Drive 93 m (305.1 ft) and turn left onto Terminal Ave N/Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N. Follow Terminal Ave N and drive 2.7 km (1.6 miles). Continue onto Island Hwy N/BC-19A N for 230 m (754.6 ft). Turn right onto Departure Bay Rd and after 2.0 km (1.2 miles), turn right onto Hammond Bay Rd. Drive 3.2 km (2 miles) and turn right onto Lagoon Rd. After 67 m (219.8 ft), turn right onto Place Rd. Go on 600 m (1968.5 ft) more to reach the Strait of Georgia.
From Victoria:
Getting to Clark Rock dive site from Victoria is via Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N. It is 120 km (74.5 miles) and takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Take Government St to Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N for 1.2 km (0.7 miles). Use any lane to turn left onto Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 N and drive 110 km (68.3 miles). Continue on Terminal Ave N. Take Departure Bay Rd and Hammond Bay Rd to Place Rd. After 8.6 km (5.3 miles), you will reach the Strait of Georgia.
