Cumberland Lake Park Campground is located in the center of Vancouver Island. It is 3 km (1.8 miles) west of Cumberland village on glacier-fed Comox Lake, which offers a perfect camping place. The campground has 14 serviced (power/water) and 34 un-serviced sites, two group sites, and a boat launch to access the lake.
The sites are clean and treed with lake-sided or forested options. By camping in Cumberland Lake Park Campground, campers experience peace and decency away from the bustle of towns. The sandy beaches are perfect for spending some time walking or lounging on enjoying the lake's beautiful view and forest. Cumberland Lake Park is operated by a non-profit organization that goes by Cumberland Lake Wilderness Society (CLWS) that takes care of the lake and visitors.
Campers would enjoy a variety of activities such as swimming, paddling, climbing crags. Hiking is amusing while enjoying the awe-inspiring views of trails with decent access to Comox Lake. Being on the lake with closeness to the town and amenities makes the campground a popular place.
Located on Central Vancouver Island, Cumberland Lake Park Campground is 3 km (1.8 miles) west of Cumberland village at the end of Comox Lake road. It is situated right on the lake with a concession, lounging on the beautiful beach. You can enjoy several water activities such as paddling and swimming, that would be great.
On the other side of Comox Lake, have a visit to Comox Lake Bluffs Ecological Reserve with beautiful views and hiking trails to the bluffs. Allen Lake is an excellent place to spend a few days. It is about 4 km (2.4 miles) to the south of the campground, offering beautiful hikes and a secluded park. Willemar Lake 15 km (9.3 miles), Elsie Lake 19 km (11.8 miles), and Great Central Lake 30 km (18.6 miles) are to the southwest of Cumberland Lake Campground. Buttle Lake 30 km (18.6 miles) to the west, Upper Campbell Lake 50 km (31 miles) to the northwest, and Campbell Lake 48 km (29.8 miles) to the north are three awe-inspiring and famous lakes offering pleasant campgrounds with gorgeous views of the lake and forest. Puntledge RV Campground 10 km (6.2 miles), Maple Pool Campsite and RV Park 11 km (6.8 miles), Cape Lazo RV & Campground 16 km (9.9 miles), Seal Bay RV Park 17 km (10.5 miles), and Kin Beach Provincial Park Campground 18 km (11.1 miles), are the nearby campgrounds located to the east.
