Comox Lake, with an average depth of 61 meters (200 ft.) and a surface area of about 16.2 km2 (6.3 sq mi), is located west of Cumberland. It offers a wide range of water sports such as wakeboarding and waterskiing. Comox Lake is in Comox Valley. It is the largest glacier on Vancouver Island, attracting several tourists worldwide, such as hiking, fishing, swimming, and golfing fans. Fresh seafood, ferry to the mainland, proximity to Goose Spit Regional Park, Seal Bay Nature Park, Strathcona Provincial Park, and Mt. Washington Ski Resort, besides mountain biking facilities, make the place much more absorbing.
This freshwater lake is placed northwest of the smaller Beaufort Lake in the Comox Valley near Cumberland. The Comox Lake is a 75-minute drive from Nanaimo. Highway 19 is a fast way to travel to the area. This four-lane route link the Comox Valley and Southern Vancouver Island. The time to travel between Victoria and Comox Valley is around 2 hours and 30 minutes.
